Healthy Gluten-Free Strawberry Smoothie

CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal TV, NBC affiliate Channel 22; June 25, 2015) – In the mood for a refreshing smoothie this summer? The Organic Gourmet, Leslie Cerier from showed us how to make a quick and easy, gluten-free, healthy strawberry smoothie with chia seeds.

Serves 3-4 for Breakfast or Snacks

2 cups strawberries
1 1/2 cups organic plain goat, sheep or cow yogurt
1 cup water
4 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons organic chia seeds* or organic milled (ground) chia seeds*
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.


* If using chia seeds for the chia seed powder, simply soak the chia seeds in the water for 5 minutes before adding it to the smoothie.

Swap other seasonal fruits or use frozen berries.
