Cranberry Goji Berry Sauce

Cranberry Orange Sauce is easy to make and love

My original recipe for Cranberry Orange sauce is wonderful and you can find it in my cookbook, Going Wild in the Kitchen and another tasty variation in my cookbook, Gluten-Free Recipes for the Conscious Cook with dried cherries.Today, I created a variation that I like even better. This one is with dates, goji berries, and maple syrup. It is sweet and tart and every now and than you find a sweet bite of dates. Delish.

Here is my original recipe, which you might include this wonderful sweet yet tart cranberry orange sauce at your next Thanksgiving and holiday feast. Try this sauce with the Tempeh Stew with Wine and Shiitake Mushrooms. Goat Cheese mushroom strudel is a great accompaniment.

Makes about 2 cups

2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

1/2 cup orange juice

1 tablespoon orange zest

2 tablespoons maple syrup, or to taste

Bring cranberries, orange juice, and orange zest to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cranberries are soft.

Turn off the heat and stir in the maple syrup. Serve warm.
