Seeds, Tasty and Nutritious

Seeds are tasty and offer us a wealth of minerals and vitaminsThanks to bodyunburdened.com for this great chart.

Did you know that eating raw flax seeds, hemp seeds and chia seeds reduces inflammation?

You will find lots of great recipes with seeds for pesto, pie crusts, smoothies, pancakes, and lots more on my website. Here are some delicious  recipes to get you started eating more seeds:

Chia Seeds: Leslie’s Gluten-Free Pumpkin Pie

Sunflower Seeds: Lemony Quinoa Salad with Toasted Sunflower Seeds

Hemp Seeds: Hemp Walnut Pie Crust

Flax Seeds: Cinnamon Banana Pancakes

I love using seeds to make smoothies, dressings (dairy free) seed milks, and for quick snacking. Seeds are great raw and toasted for garnishes, and cooked in pilafs and stuffing. Flax seeds are great for vegan pastries, replacing eggs. Hemp seeds are more nutritious raw. And hemp, flax and chia provide us with Omega 3s fatty acids.
