In the mood for a refreshing smoothie? Here is a recipe for a quick and easy strawberry smoothie with nutritious chia seeds. This super luscious smoothie is also gluten-free. Chia seed is an abundant source of omega fats, protein, antioxidants and dietary fiber. I like to use organic goat yogurt; feel free to use your favorite organic yogurt; sheep, cow, coconut…

Serves 3-4 for Breakfast or Snacks

2 cups organic strawberries

1 1/2 cups organic plain goat, sheep or cow yogurt

1 cup water

4 tablespoons organic maple syrup

2 tablespoons organic Nutiva chia seeds* or Nutiva milled (ground) chia seeds*

1 tablespoon organic vanilla extract

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.


* If using chia seeds for the chia seed powder, simply soak the chia seeds in the water for 5 minutes before adding it to the smoothie.

Swap other seasonal fruits or use frozen berries.
