Many years ago, I was coached to spend a week just making art; hike on the trails behind my home, take and make more Impressionistic Nature Photographs.  “Dreaming of You” was taken back then on a hot summer day. I sat for a long time, watching and meditating on the light on  this shallow stream. Listening to the sweet sound of the gently moving water. One of my favorite places to go with my camera; take photographs, and just BE. Also, where, from a different angle, in the spring, I took the photographs “Jeweled Water” and “Monet’s Spring”.  Continue reading

We walked right by the spot I took this photograph. A nice memory. A sweet hike. Continue reading

Designing the Green Kitchen

Natural, local stone for kitchen countersAs a Green Chef, cooking with local, seasonal ,organic produce, it made sense to lessen my carbon footprint and pick out local stone from the local quarry for my kitchen counter. More stone in my passive solar home would also keep my home naturally cool in the summer. The “Pond Ice” Schist stone with ribbons of translucent cream and white, resembles cloud reflections in ponds. Friends said it had the same feel of my Impressionistic Nature Photographs.
