Cilantro Hemp Seed Pesto

My cilantro is flowering and some is becoming cilantro seed also known as coriander. Today I made vegan cilantro pesto with cilantro flowers, some fresh cilantro and fresh coriander.  I highly recommend it. The fresh coriander seed has a light and sweeter flavor than cilantro.

Fruit Smoothies, YUM!

In hot weather, I love making fruit smoothies for breakfast. Using chia seeds, hemp seeds and cashews for a vegan smoothie gives me great energy and stamina for hours. Great Vegan protein, too! Chia seeds and Hemp seeds are both a complete proteins and offer lots of Omega fatty acids, fiber and anti-oxidants 

Sometimes , I like to make my smoothies with grass raised organic yogurt. Goat, sheep and cow yogurts are my preference. Continue reading

Cilantro Pesto is great on pasta and super inside vegetarian sushi. Today, I ventured beyond just adding hemp seeds and black sesame seeds to my exotic organic Jade Pearl Rice and salad greens. In fact, the whole combo was new: fresh lettuce, thai basil and mustard greens from my organic garden and cilantro pesto made yesterday with garlic scapes. I made a quick and easy variation of the recipe I created for Nutiva using garlic scapes instead of garlic cloves. Continue reading
