I took this photo of a butterfly on bee balm in one of my organic flower gardens outside my passive solar home in the beautiful woods in Shutesbury, MA. There are many colorful butterflies flying round my organic vegetable, flower and herb gardens from spring to fall. Come enjoy a rendezvous with hummingbirds and lots of colorful flowers. Garden Fresh Herbs on Salads

Salad with Chives, Olives, Hemp Seeds

Fresh herbs add flavor and jazz up fresh organic garden salads. For a delicious vegan main course salad, I garnished and added hemp seeds for a complete protein. Walnuts, too. Both are tasty and great sources of anti-inflammatory omega-3 essential fatty acids, rich in antioxidants, healthy fats. The chives and chive blossoms, olives, and a light dressing of an organic flavored organic clementine virgin olive oil and one of my own organic flavored vinegar’s, a blueberry vanilla fig balsamic vinegar, make a delicious salad. Designing the Green Kitchen

Natural, local stone for kitchen countersAs a Green Chef, cooking with local, seasonal ,organic produce, it made sense to lessen my carbon footprint and pick out local stone from the local quarry for my kitchen counter. Luckily, I live about an hour away from Ashfield Stone. Picking out my stone required several visits. Which stone slab would look and feel right next to my brick oven? More stone in my passive solar home would also keep my home naturally cool in the summer. The “Pond Ice” Schist stone with ribbons of translucent cream and white, resembles cloud reflections in ponds. Friends said it had the same feel of my Impressionistic Nature Photographs.
