CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal TV; September 12, 2014) Going gluten-free doen’t mean you have to go dessert-free! Leslie Cerier, The Organic Gourtmet from, showed us how to make a delicious gluten-free pear cranberry crisp.

Pear Cranberry Crisp

1 cup organic apple juice
3 organic pears cored and sliced
3/4 cup frozen cranberries
2 cups organic rolled oats
1/2 cup teff flour or organic ground flax seeds
1/3 cup organic extra-virgin coconut oil
1/3 cup organic maple syrup
1 teaspoon organic cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
Spread the apples over the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish. Put the rolled oats, teff flour, oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt in a medium-size bowl and stir until thoroughly combined. (You may want to use your hands.) Crumble the mixture over the cranberries and pears, then pour the juice over the top.
Bake for about 30 minutes, until the topping is crisp and the pears are tender. Serve warm.
