HEALTHY MAPLE WALNUT PIE CRUST
CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal TV September 11, 2014) – Forget the frozen pie crusts, make your own easy and healthy, NO BAKE, pie crust using walnuts! Leslie Cerier, the Organic Gourmet from LeslieCerier.com, showed us how to make it.
Walnut Maple Piecrust
Makes 1- 9″ pie crust
1 1/4 cups organic walnuts
2 Tablespoons organic maple syrup
1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract
Grind the walnuts in a food processor. Add maple syrup and vanilla extract, and blend well. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan. Make the filling.
NOTES: Quick and easy, gluten-free, dairy-free, no bake pie crust is ready in minutes. Whip it up and add your favorite filling. Great for cheesecake! Walnuts offer vegetarian/vegan source of Omega 3s.
