CHICOPEE, Mass. (April 14, 2014; Mass Appeal TV) – The Passover Seder is a Jewish ritual feast that marks the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Passover which began at sundown tonight. Leslie Cerier, The Organic Gourmet from LeslieCerier.com shows us how to make some of the foods served on the seder plate.
Fresh Horseradish
Ingredients:
Horseradish root
Vinegar to taste
Directions:
Rinse. Grate the horseradish by hand or food processor
Add a little vinegar to calm the heat. Taste and adjust the seasonings, adding more vinegar to cool it down.
Charoset
Ingredients:
½ cup almonds
½ cup dates or dried apricots
1 grated and peeled whole apple, about 1 cup
Pinch of cinnamon
2 Tbsp wine, optional
Directions:
Put all the ingredients in a food processor; puree; taste and adjust the seasoning
